17th Climbing National Championship
Dates: September 1st - September 4th 2009
Location: Changzhi City, Shanxi - China
Competitions: leading, bouldering, speed (15m)

Microgate provided timing service during the 17th Climbing National Championship as China Division of Microgate is sponsoring CMA (Chinese Mountaineering Association). Microgate provided timing system for both speed climbing and bouldering competitions.

Competition schedule and timing system details:

September 1st:

• Bouldering qualification
• Two utabs (1 master + 1 slave) with countdown mode, repeated cycle
• 15mt speed qualification men + women
• REI2 climbing mode with 2 lines by cable + 2 display boards on top of each route. Starting pads + finish pads

September 2nd:

• Bouldering qualification
• Two utabs (1 master + 1 slave) with countdown mode, repeated cycle
• 15mt speed final men + women
• REI2 climbing mode with 2 lines by cable + 2 display boards on top of each route. Starting pads + finish pads

September 3rd:

• Bouldering semifinal
• Two utabs (1 master + 1 slave) with countdown mode, repeated cycle

September 4th:

• Bouldering final
• Two utabs (1 master + 1 slave) with countdown mode, repeated cycle

Technical details of timing system:
- Speed Climbing 2 lines (15 mt normal competition, not world record)

Actual system:
REI2 chronometer + start button and speaker + 2 starting pads with false start detection + 2 finish pads + 1 microtab master + 1 microtab slave.
Acoustic signal for start (bip) to be implemented + acoustic signal for false start (bop)
Display visualization:
Run 1: stop time for each line + winner + delay
Run 2: timing starting from run 1 time - total time + winner based on total time + delay

Bouldering
Actual system:
One microTab master + one utab slave, connected with double visualization of countdown. Possibility to have repeated cycle for qualifications and semi- finals and manual start for finals.
